How Can a Stable Owner Help Grow the Equestrian Industry?

We met up with Claudia Zurmuhle, stable owner of Poplar Grove Stables (located in Armstrong, BC) and an Equestrian Certified Level 1 Competition Coach. She shared her thoughts on our question of the week – What can we do, as a community, to help grow the equestrian industry?

She was able to provide her insight, which we’ve summarized for you below.

1. To increase visibility, Claudia suggests school field trips to barns.
2. In order to foster community, she recommends camps for kids and adults.
3. Claudia speaks about raising awareness through good advertisement. This will promote lesson programs and the stable who runs them.
4. Lastly, she would like to see base shows for beginner riders.

Overall, Claudia suggests we focus on what’s popular and affordable, “Not so easy to do, but yes (very important).”
